| Special Olympics sunglasses to raise money for the cause Posted: 09 Jul 2010 04:16 PM PDT About the gamesThe Special Olympics 2010 USA National Games -- the largest multi-sport event in the history of Nebraska -- will come to Lincoln next Sunday through July 23. About 3,000 athletes, 1,000 coaches, 8,000 volunteers and 15,000 family members and friends will be involved in the games, which organizers expect will add $40 million to the local economy, including $5 million in tax revenues. Organizers expect about 30,000 fans. Athletes will compete in 13 sports: volleyball, tennis, soccer, softball, powerlifting, rhythmic gymnastics, golf, flag football, bowling, bocce, basketball, swimming and track and field.
