Police arrested two people on larceny charges for allegedly taking three pairs of sunglasses from a South Shore Plaza store.

Kenneth James, 42, of Boston and Lachanna L. Hairston, 29, of Roxbury were charged with larceny over $250. They were to be arraigned on the charges Thursday in Quincy District Court.

Braintree Deputy Police Chief Russell Jenkins said a Sunglass Hut employee reported the theft to Patrol Officers Paul Venuto and Matthew Heslam.

The employee said Hairston distracted her while James stole the sunglasses.

"After the couple left the store, the employee reviewed surveillance video and observed James select several pairs of sunglasses before quickly exiting the store," Jenkins said.

The officers found James and Hairston at the bus stop near the Lord & Taylor store.

Three pairs of Versace sunglasses, each valued at $220, were recovered in a bag belonging to James, Jenkins said.
