Logue, 54, of Jarvie Drive in Hamilton, was charged with shoplifting for taking a pair of sunglasses from Macy's at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 2:48 p.m. Oct. 3, police said. A store loss prevention officer saw her pick up a pair of Steve Madden sunglasses, valued at $34, and put them on her head, police said. She walked over to the shoe department and purchased several pairs of shoes. The loss prevention officer saw her put the sunglasses in the shopping bag. She was issued a summons and released. * * * A Fairfield Avenue resident reported the theft of $5 in change from the center console in his 2005 Ford Explorer which was parked in his driveway between 8 p.m. Oct. 2 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 3, police said. The thief ransacked the interior of the vehicle, which may have been left unlocked, police said. There were no signs of forced entry. * * * Someone damaged the door frame of a room at the Howard Johnson Motor Inn on Brunswick Pike between 11 p.m. Sept. 30 and 1:09 a.m. Oct. 1, police said. The victim, who was staying in the room, reported that the door was ajar, but nothing was missing. Damage was estimated at $1,800. * * * James Hussey, 45, of Basel, Switzerland, was charged with driving under the influence and other motor vehicle offenses after a police officer saw him driving under the speed limit on Bakers Basin Road at 2:19 a.m. Sept. 30, police said. * * * A 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck was damaged when it caught fire as an attendant was filling the gas tank at the Exxon service station on Brunswick Pike at 10:20 p.m. Sept. 29, police said. The attendant saw flames coming out from underneath the truck and put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, police said. The cause of the fire was a flashover from oil or gas fumes, sparked by an overheated catalytic converter. * * * A Colonial Lake Drive resident reported that someone used yellow spray paint on the hood and windshield of her 2007 Honda minivan between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sept. 29, police said. Damage was estimated at less than $500. * * * Two yellow school-crossing cones were reported stolen from the corner of Lawrence and Eggerts Crossing roads between 8 a.m. Sept. 14 and 8 a.m. Sept. 28, police said. The cones were valued at $50. * * * A Sycamore Court resident reported the theft of her wallet, containing $100 in cash plus personal papers, while she was shopping at the Acme grocery store at the Lawrence Shopping Center between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sept. 27, police said. * * * An Avalon Way resident told police someone stole two bicycles, worth a combined $900, and a set of socket wrenches, valued at $300, from the garage at his home between 11:15 p.m. Sept. 27 and 8:15 a.m. Sept. 28. There was no sign of forced entry. * * * A shoplifter escaped with two combination photo negative film scanners, valued at $198, from the CVS pharmacy on Brunswick Pike at 8:03 p.m. Sept. 27, police said. A store clerk saw the man enter the store and walk around the aisles, before picking up the scanners and running out of the store, police said. * * * David S. Modrow, 38, of 11th St. in Ewing Township, was charged with driving under the influence and other motor vehicle offenses after a police officer saw him speeding on Princeton Avenue at 12:38 a.m. Sept. 27, police said. * * * Monica Haws, 36, of Morrisville, Pa., was charged with driving under the influence and other motor vehicle offenses after a police officer observed her driving too slowly on Brunswick Pike at 2:02 a.m. Sept. 25, police said.
