Shady Sunglasses Seized at ND Border Posted: 27 Dec 2010 08:08 AM PST Customs and Border Protection says border agents seized a shipment of counterfeit designer sunglasses and reading glasses at the Portal port of entry in North Dakota. Spokesman Brian King says the more than 3,300 pairs of fake glasses that were found in a rail shipment headed for the U.S. from Canada. King says the look-a-like glasses were knock-offs of about 10 designer brands. Border agents estimated the phony glasses were valued at about $6,700 but could have fetched more than $440,000 had they been sold as genuine under the legitimate manufacturers` suggested retail price.
