According to a press release from Kingsport police, a convenience store was robbed Wednesday night. Police say it occurred at a Shell station, 1331 South John B. Dennis Highway. A white male entered at about 9 p.m. wearing a baseball cap, long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses. He allegedly placed his hands under his shirt several times, leading the clerk to believe he had a weapon. The suspect reportedly forced his was into the cash register and fled with money. Witnesses told police he left in a red Ford Escort with a white female. Anyone with information is asked to call Kingsport detectives, (423) 229-9429, or central dispatch, (423) 246-9111.
